What is dry cider?
Dry refers to how much sugar is left in the cider. In NZ, if it is under 20g/L it is considered dry ie. not sweet. In Ausie and the UK, dry is even drier at under 9g/L. Elemental Ciders have less than 0.2g/L and can be classified as sugar-free. The carbohydrate count is 1-2 g/100ml, depending on the cider. Whilst we are not making health claims, these are very acceptable levels for those with diabetes, coeliac and crohn’s disease or on a keto diet.
