Our Orchards

We use proper cider apples.

Located in the fertile plains of Sunny Otaki and river terraces of Ohau.

We only grow heritage apple and pear cultivars specific for their use in
cider production.

They differ in bitterness or dryness of flavour. We have many different varieties, with names like Slack Ma Girdle, Knotted Kernel, Bisquet, Brown Snout, Kingston Black.

They are not the easiest to grow, generally not the nicest to eat, can set poor crops and ripen at vastly different times. Not many people making cider use these apples.

However, they make great cider
